About

Malicloy Bernese Mountain Dogs was established by myself, Ben Taylor in 2004. We are located in country South Australia, approximately 40kms north of the city of Adelaide at the small seaside town of Middle Beach.

Dogs are my life, and my aim is simple...to produce the best possible Bernese, that stay true to type, whilst also retaining their marvellous friendly nature. Quality is of extreme importance to me.

I wish to promote our dogs as our "best friends" first and foremost and I choose to keep a small selective kennel of only the best-tempered and well-formed dogs and bitches. I hope to further advance and promote the Bernese breed, firstly by providing quality dogs that can be competitive in the show ring and secondly by encouraging "new comers" to the breed in a positive way, by educating our future puppy owners of how to attain the best from their dogs.

The kennel name "Malicloy" was derived by using two letters from Bens first two dogs, Max and Eli. Contributing to the first part of the prefix, 'Mali', while (Ben's Mum) Ruth’s two dogs, Claude and Leroy, contributed to the last part, "cloy', hence in 2004 Malicloy Kennels was derived.
