25/6/10 We have launched our new business "Barossa Horse Drawn Weddings" with the purchase of an imported 11-seater vis-a-vis limousine to be pulled by two of our Clydesdales, Annie and Magnus. This gorgeous carriage is the only one of it's kind in Australia and will also be selectively used for our other venture "Barossa Horse Drawn Winery Tours." Whilst advertising and web design are still being finalised, some 2010 Bookings for Spring have already been accepted and further enquiries are welcome.

13/6/10 Fabulous news..... our Pingu won Reserve Bitch Challenge at the 10th Anniversary BMD Club of Victoria National Specialty Show, and only at the tender age of 19 months old! It was an amazing day with an astonishing 106 entries, the largest entry recieved at a single show in Australia. We would like to thank Satu Yla-Mononen from Finland for her recognition of our girl. It was a pleasure to have met and showed under such a lovely judge and one so well respected around the world. Pingu won her Intermediate class from an entry of sixteen bitches and was awarded second best Bitch out of an entry of 49 Bitches for the day. Not to be forgotten also, is our little boy Derek, he was awarded 3rd in his class of 6 Baby Puppies. Below is pictured Ben showing Pingu on the day of the Specialty...

Satu said of 'Pingu' (Malicloy Against All Odds)......

"Medium sized, excllent proportions. Feminine head, could have a little more stop. Excellent chest and body, excellent bone and angulations. Correct tail set and carriage. Moves well, excellent coat and markings."

7/5/10 We have now created a new Data Base which contains PennHIP results from various dogs throughout Australia. Anyone with results they wish to submit is welcome. It is meant to be an open Data Base where hopefully everyone doing PennHIP within Australia will give results freely. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly! Look at www.malicloy.com/PennHIP.html it is on our website under the Links Page.

Also we have added a page which contains all the Malicloy Litters and their litter information. Look at the bottom of "Our Dogs" page to find the link or follow the link on our "Links" page.

5/5/10 Malicloy Bluesteel ("Derek") and Malicloy Butterfly Kiss ("Daisy") each have a page of their own, look on the "OurDogs" page to see them. Both are staying at Malicloy and we look forward to showing them soon.

30/4/10 Malicloy Black Velvet (called "Bosco") has gone to live with his new family today. Bosco is such a happy little pup, he didn't even look back as he went off to his new home. We wish Tom and Chantelle all the best as they start their new life together.

18/12/09 Wow, where does one start.....once again I've left it so long before I've updated things. Lot's has happened in the last year and a half, not least of which is I've got married to my beautiful bride Holly. Together we have bought 80 acres to house our ever growing tribe of Horses and Dogs. We now have 6 Clydsdales, 4 other horses, 4 Bernese and a Parrot called Chilli. Phoebe has gone to live with mum at middle beach. She is loving life, having all the affection she can handle.

On a sadder note....we had to say goodbye to my first Bernese "Max". He was lucky enough to be the first dog to visit our new block and he can now overlook the property from under a solitary tree at the side of our block. It is because of Max I have the passion for the breed, and I will never forget the friendship I shared with him.

Below is a picture of our wedding........

17/4/08 Hayley gives birth to 6 Healthy pups. 4 Girls and 2 Boys. Hayley was respectful of my sleep requirements and delivered them between 3:30 and 7:00 p.m. Yay... for me!!!. Hayley is the best Mum ever and despite her extremely outgoing personality, has been the devoted mum I could only have dreamt her to be. "Hayley" (Branbern Darby Doll) was mated to "Spencer" (Branbern Royal Salute)

26/1/06 Sorry folks, for not having updated this page sooner, but It has been a busy year and I'm not the most literate of computer people, so I get someone I know to update the site for me.

The year has been great for us at Malicloy. Eli (Alpenhund Elite Edition) has had many wins this year in the show ring, including a Reserve dog challenge at the 2005 Sydney royal show, Runner up Best of breed for the second year running at the Adelaide Royal, and he won his class in the Melbourne royal 2005. Earlier in 2005 Eli also won a Runner up best in group, plus several class in group and class in show awards. All this paled in to insignificance when he won Best in Group at one of the largest "local" shows for the year, during December'05. It was a great win and was Eli's first Best in group win. What made it a "sweeter" victory was that it was awarded by a local SA judge that could have chosen any number of Judges handling other dogs in the line-up. I was very proud in deed.

Phoebe (Branbern Saturns Moon) has not been without her wins as well. Her best achievement so far has been to win "Puppy in Group" at the 2005 Pedigree Autumn International Show under a Japanese judge, being handled by our beloved friend, Jackie Heynan. This show is second only in size to the Adelaide Royal Show for our state, and attracts lots of the top winning dogs from around Australia. Phoebe also won her class at the 2005 Melbourne Royal show, and has won multiple "class in Group" awards throughout the year. Thanks must go to Lyn Brand of Branbern kennels for entrusting such a lovely bitch to us.

We also have a new addition to Malicloy. He comes by the name "Wilbur" (Branbern Royal Garter). We are running him on for a few years and are campaigning him at the shows. He is such a sweet natured boy and just has the most "soulful" eyes. He won a "baby puppy in group" but has not been shown heavily of late. He is going to be a tall boy and has just started to mature into a lovely boy. His movement is second to none and we hope he continues to mature as he is doing. Thanks again to Lyn.

I'm not sure whether this is worth mentioning on this page, but Malicloy has diversified. Ben now has a "house dog" called Ralph. He is a Griffon Bruxellois, and was entrusted to us by Michelle and Karen from Asryn Kennels. I will endeavor to put his profile up on the "our dogs" page so you can have a chuckle at his comical face. He has been the easiest dog to live with, and has fitted in with the big dogs just fine, considering he is only 1.2 kilos. He has big dog attitude and is a very stout dog that can look after himself, without being a neurotic dog, as most of the toy breeds are. He is great fun and provides endless hours of entertainment for myself and the other dogs. Ben hopes to show him in the near future once he has grasped the concept of "stripping a coat" under the skillful training of Michelle Hupfeld.
